In both cases an email is sent.

For a Give to a non-MDO user a link is included, and you have the option of re-sending that link with your own email account, by selecting the file and clicking “Details“.

For a Give to an MDO user the email doesn’t contain a link, but instead directs the user to look in their MDO account under “Files From Others“. Downloading is from their account, and they can also move the file into one of their own folders.  In this case the “Details” option will not include re-sending the link.

There is one special exception and that is when a user gives a file to themselves, because we infer it is a test of what a non-user would see. In that case we send a link.
