In Windows if you get a Security Warning “Failed to validate certificate. The application will not be executed” when downloading the Desktop App.

This problem is caused by a bug in Java 7 update 6 and 7. Oracle is aware of the bug and is working on it.

In the meantime use this workaround:

• From the Windows Control Panel select Java Control Panel (Java may also be located under “Programs and Features” in the Windows Control Panel).
• Select the “Advanced” tab
• Under Security expand the “General” section
• UNCHECK “Enable online certificate validation”
• Apply

Download the Desktop App again. The warning should not be presented.
