When starting the Desktop App, if this error appears:

“Error: JAR resources in JNLP file are not signed by the same certificate”

You need to delete your Java “cache” (temporary internet files).

Here is how to delete your Java cache:

Windows

  • Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
  • Click the Java icon (for Windows 7 and Vista, Click “Programs” then the Java Icon)
  • On the “General” tab, under “Temporary Internet Files” click “Settings”
  • Click “Delete Files”
  • Make sure “delete applications and applets” is checked and click “Delete Files”  (This step may take some time so please wait for it to complete)

MAC OS X

  • Navigate to the Java folder from your hard drive: HD > Applications > Utilities > Java.
  • Open the Java Preferences application.
  • Click on the Network tab.
  • Click the Delete Files button
  • Make sure “delete applications and applets” is checked and click “OK”  (This step may take some time so please wait for it to complete)

Emptying the cache will also remove the desktop shortcut, but it will be installed again when you do the final step, which is:

download a fresh copy of the Desktop App.
