‘Failed to validate certificate’ warning when downloading the Desktop App

In Windows if you get a Security Warning “Failed to validate certificate. The application will not be executed” when downloading the Desktop App.
This problem is caused by a bug in Java 7 update 6 and 7. Oracle is aware of the bug and is working on it.
In the meantime use this workaround:
- From the Windows Control Panel select Java Control Panel (Java may also be located under “Programs and Features” in the Windows Control Panel).
- Select the “Advanced” tab
- Under Security expand the “General” section
- UNCHECK “Enable online certificate validation”
- Apply
Download the Desktop App again. The warning should not be presented.
