Due to problems with Web Folders in 32-bit Vista, combined with Office 2007, Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents may open marked “read-only” and updates cannot be saved back to your My Docs Online account via Web Folders.

The following steps may resolve the issue:

• Install Service Pack 2 if you haven’t already. Check to see if this solved the problem.
• If it doesn’t solve the problem, download and install this web folders update.

Then follow these steps:

• Open the Microsoft Office installation directory. (Usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12.)
• Rightclick on ‘WinWord.exe’ and select ‘Properties’.
• Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab.
• Check the option ‘Run this Program in Compatibility Mode’.
• Choose Windows XP or Windows 2000 from the dropdown menu.
• Repeat the steps for ‘Excel.exe’ and ‘Powerpnt.exe’.
