A problem introduced with iOS 6 causes downloaded audio files such as mp3 files to “restart” from the beginning, often after five minutes of playback. This behavior will be seen on the iPad and iPhone when clicking on a Public folder link or downloading an mp3 or other Quicktime audio file from the web browser client.

This is an Apple bug in iOS 6 and later (unless and until Apple fixes it).
