Can I require a password when Sharing a file?
When using the Desktop App to “Share” a file or files, you have the option to specify a password for enhanced security.
The password (or pass “phrase”) must be 30 characters or less, and is case sensitive.
Whether sending the file sharing link yourself or opting to have My Docs Online deliver the link email, you must communicate the optional password to the recipient yourself.
When your recipient opens the file sharing link, the password (if you specified one) must be entered before the list of shared files is displayed.
For security reasons, the password, once set during the Sharing process, cannot be recovered or changed. If you forget the password and your recipient is unable to receive the files, repeat the Sharing process to get a new link, with a new optional password.
